Garage doors can cost anywhere from several hundred to several thousand dollars.
Many people do not have this sort of money to spare, and can be put under a lot of stress when something does go wrong with their garage door!
If you’re in this position, do not stress. With the information below, you will be able to reduce that cost as much as possible.
Perth’s Cheapest Garage Door Service & Repair
As much as we wish we could be the cheapest supplier of garage doors, unfortunately, Eden Roc Garage Doors are not.
We are firm believers that you get what you pay for, especially in the garage door business. Many garage door companies are simply ‘a man in a van’ – with the owner of the business performing all roles in the business. While there is nothing wrong with this approach, it is more challenging for these businesses to provide ongoing support to their customers.
In contrast, Eden Roc has a large team and we bring with us those ‘large team advantages’ – ie, we provide outstanding support and have great relationships with our suppliers (which is so important when to comes to assisting customers with their product warranties).
While we believe we provide the best service and are very competitively priced, we are not the cheapest. At the cheapest price, we would not be able to provide the same quality of product and service.
So, if you’re searching for a company who will work with you at truly the lowest cost, you will want to find ‘a man in a van’. You can find these providers on Gumtree, or on the third or fourth page of google.
Cheapest Garage Door Manufacturer
There are a number of different door manufacturers, some are cheaper than others.
While the most ‘well-known’ door manufacturer is probably B&D doors, they are not the cheapest. The cheapest garage door manufacturer is Centurion Garage Doors.
Despite their comparatively cheaper price tag, Centurion doors are actually very high quality and are a great choice for many residential homes – regardless of budget.
Note, Centurion do not offer garage doors of all colours with only 15 ‘standard’ colours. If you purchase a door of another colour, it will need to be specially painted which will, unfortunately, cost more.
Cheapest Garage Door Type
The 3 common types of garage doors are: Sectional Garage Doors, Roller doors, and Tilt doors.
While sectional garage doors are the most common type of door for residential homes, Roller doors are the cheapest! You can typically expect a roller door to cost roughly $300 less than a sectional garage door of the same size.
Additionally, you can reduce the cost of your garage door by choosing not to purchase a remote controlled door opener. While this will save you several hundred dollars, it does mean you will need to get out of your car to open the garage door by hand each time you wish to open or close the garage door.
The Cheapest Garage Door Opener
While you may be looking to purchase the cheapest garage door, you may not be willing to give up the convenience of being able to open and close your garage door at the press of a button to save a few hundred dollars. If this is the case, you will be wanting to purchase an opener as well… (a cheap opener!)
While we prefer to provide our customers with Merlin openers for their industry best 7 year warranty and proven track record of providing an outstanding product, the cheapest opener is rather a Guardian opener. Guardian openers only come with a 2 year warranty and are susceptible to a number of issues, including breaking gear drives and circuit board failure. That being said, Guardian are the cheapest!
Preventing Costly Issues.
Getting a cheap garage door installed is one thing, ensuring that it stays cheap is another.
When something goes wrong with a garage door, it may result in repairs that can cost several hundred dollars. As such, it is in your financial interest to ensure that nothing goes wrong with you garage door! There are a few things you can do to ensure your garage door is kept in the best possible shape including performing 6 monthly maintenance yourself and servicing the door by a technician every 2 years.
Replacing a rusting cable for ~$30 now is a lot cheaper than replacing a damaged door that falls out of the track when that rusty cable breaks in 6 months time.
The Perfect “Cost-Saving Garage Door Set Up”
If you want to spend the least amount of money possible to purchase, use, and maintain a garage door, this is the formula you should follow:
- Purchase a Centurion Roller Door in a ‘standard’ colour from a ‘man in a van’ garage door company.
- Either opt for no opener or a Guardian opener if you cannot go without one.
- Perform 6 monthly maintenance yourself.
- Service your garage door every 2 years by a ‘man in a van’.
Following this formula will ensure your garage door costs you – in the long run – the least it possibly could.
